Jordy Gold
Sustainability Consultant - Journalist
 
 
Jordy Gold is a sustainability consultant, journalist and speaker focused on creating the greatest possible changes leading to a more vibrant society living within natural limits. As Deputy Campaign Manager he recently helped Elizabeth May become the first elected Green Member of Parliament in Canadian history. He is also a founding member and Editor for OpenCity Projects, a consultancy and online publication using strategic design to problem solve and enhance urban experiences.
 
Jordy has worked throughout Canada and in countries like Thailand and Switzerland. He has consulted with organizations on sustainability initiatives ranging from corporate responsibility e-learning programs and transportation expositions to solar industry reports. Prior to strategy consulting, Jordy was Director of Business Development at Corporate Knights Magazine where he helped launch the Global 100 at the World Economic Forum.
 
As a seasoned writer, he contributes to a range of national publications on sustainability issues including Green Living, Corporate Knights, ReNew Canada and World Changing Canada. Jordy’s interview series on the future of the planet and the economy, entitled ‘Pushing the Limits,’ includes 15 of the world’s sustainability leaders including Jane Goodall, David Suzuki and Robert Kennedy Jr.
 
Jordy holds a Master’s of Environmental Management and Policy from the IIIEE, Lund University in Sweden and a B.A. Honours in Politics and Development Studies from Queen’s University. His MSc thesis on E-learning, Sustainability and Behavioural Change passed with distinction. He has been a three-time judge for the Green Toronto Awards and is a member of the Not Far From the Tree Steering Committee.
